Scholastic's global literacy campaign underscores the importance of reading to better prepare children to live complete and successful lives.
What's the single most important thing you can do for your children? Help them develop a love of reading.
If you want your to help your children succeed in elementary school and beyond, read to them today. The simple sharing of a story helps kids fall in love with books and reading.
One study found "children who were read to at least 3 times a week, were almost twice as likely to score in the top 25% in reading."
Refresh your home library. Children who have access to more books will eventually have higher reading scores. Reading is the skill that unlocks more learning.
Here's a brief video that highlights the big dreams that can be realized through family reading:

During our Book Fair we will collect dollar bills and loose change to buy more books for the school. Scholastic will match the amount we collect by donating books to charities that help children. It's a winning combination!

Our teachers have made a wish list of books they would like to add to their classroom libraries. By participating, you'll make books available to students conveniently, right in their classroom.

Love books? Volunteer to help at the Book Fair. You can decorate and set up, help kids select books, work on refreshments, give a book talk, or help pack up. There are lots of ways to participate.
